Overview
Orthogeriatric Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King\'s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust. This appointment supports the Trust\'s strategy to improve outcomes for elderly trauma patients and to deliver comprehensive care throughout the hospital pathway. The appointee will work with the Orthopaedic department to provide care from pre-operative assessment to rehabilitation. There will be no commitment to the general medical on-call rota. The post is supported by the Trauma Nurse Specialist and other orthopaedic middle grades and foundation doctors. Flexible working arrangements may be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities
* Deliver quality Ortho-geriatric and medical services in the most effective way, regularly benchmarking service to improve practice.
* Support the organisational aim of QEHKL, making a positive contribution to the management and financial strategies.
* Work to strengthen links with GPs and neighbouring Trusts.
* Continue to enhance and develop Ortho-Geriatric service.
* Meet NHFD target for delivering best practice care in Fractured Neck of Femur patients.
* Initiate and take part in regular clinical audit.
* Have an active role in research.
