Manchester Metropolitan University's Law School is recruiting and is offering opportunities for excellent scholars committed to making a difference for students and wider society through excellent education that transforms lives and high quality, impactful research. We were delighted to be awarded ‘Law School of the Year' in the Educate North Awards 2025 and to be part of the Times/Sunday Times ‘Modern University of the Year' 2025.
In this round of appointments, we will make appointments that align with our education and pedagogy/practice pathway, including at Senior Lecturer level. We have priority teaching needs in areas of Company & Commercial Law, Property or Criminal Law and would like to see applicants who are excited to teach in these areas and contribute to developing them within the School. Every appointment will be expected to deliver excellent learning and teaching in at least one of our core UG modules and elective modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Applicants with broader experiences in digital legal education, pro bono and sustainability are welcome to build on the School's leadership in these areas. Ideal candidates would have experience delivering legal education in HE contexts, and/or bring legal practice experience to the classroom to strengthen our contextual approach to legal education. At Senior Lecturer level, we would expect some experience of education leadership and an interest in further developing this area. Demonstrable expertise of recent developments in legal education (and the wider sector), including addressing differential outcomes or awarding gaps among student groups, is important for the role.
