Head of Product (Motor Direct)

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role shaping the next phase of Direct Line’s retail growth.
As Head of Motor Direct, you will be a key member of the ‘Direct to Consumer’ leadership helping to define and deliver a bold strategy to grow Direct Line’s Retail business.
You will be responsible for the commercial and customer outcomes for the Motor products across our Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege brands and have accountability ranging from daily trading performance, managing customer experience through to identifying and delivering strategic initiatives for your area.
What else you'll be doing:
1. Set the strategy and plans for the Motor Direct business that align and support delivery of the overall Retail strategy.
2. Accountable for the overall commercial performance and P&L of your area.
3. Continuously prioritise plans and activity for the area, ensuring required resource in place to maximise value.
4. Lead trading performance of the area, identify and delivering actions to ensure performance in line with plans and taking corrective action where required.
5. Work with colleagues from across the business to deliver plans – including Chief Underwriting Office, Data & Analytics, Operations, Claims and CIO.
6. Embed a culture of customer centricity across the area.
7. Use both internal and external data and insight to inform decision making.
8. Ensure a strong control framework in place across the value stream, in line with the Enterprise-wide Risk Management Strategy and Framework.
9. Build and develop a highly skilled and motivated team across the value stream.
What we're looking for:
10. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate this into a clear strategy and product roadmap.
11. Highly numerate, with strong commercial acumen.
12. 5 years+ experience of leading a commercial area, including P&L management is desirable.
13. Demonstrative experience in innovating and continuously improving products and services for commercial and customer benefit.
14. Strong stakeholder management skills – able to encourage cross-discipline collaboration in order to achieve business goals and overcome organisational challenges.
15. Comfortable operating at Executive Committee (ExCo) and ExCo-1 level.
