Siemens Energy fully integrated Wind Power Division known as Siemens Gamesa are seeking two high-potential graduate who are passionate about offshore wind power to join the team on a 2-year long graduate program based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Siemens Gamesa is the market leader in offshore wind with over 5,000 Direct Drive turbines installed offshore. Its operational offshore windfarms span 12 countries across Northern Europe, Asia and North America with turbine platforms from 3MW right up to the flagship 14MW. Over the next 3 years, the global Offshore Service business unit will see its portfolio under contract grow 25% by generation capacity reaching beyond 25GW. The graduate program will be set across two centralised support functions of Resource Management & Planning (RMPL) and Operations Support (OS); which provide specialist services to our 50+ Offshore Windfarms which are operational under long term service contracts. No two days will be the same on this dynamic journey! How You’ll Make an Impact These graduate roles involve a broad spectrum of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable generation of energy from wind turbines. The specific duties will vary depending on the RMPL or OS team that you are allocated to while on rotation. This program will provide a holistic view of offshore service windfarm operations, allowing a graduate to gain experience across technical, safety, and managerial functions with frequent exposure to Senior level stakeholders. Here is a general list of responsibilities: Operational Performance
1. Turbine performance: Remotely monitoring the performance and output of wind turbines, ensuring high asset availability.
2. Data Analysis: Collecting, analysing, and interpreting performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
3. Optimisation: Supporting the development and implementation of strategies to optimize wind farm performance and increase efficiency.
Technician Workforce Management
4. Scope Planning: Planning and coordinating routine, preventative maintenance and repair activities across the portfolio.
5. Resource Planning: Assisting resource teams in forecasting; sourcing, developing, deploying and controlling our global Wind Technician workforce.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
6. Ensuring Safety Compliance: Strictly following and promoting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) legislation and company-specific safety rules (, Wind Turbine Safety Rules).
Project and General Management
7. Project Support: Providing support to senior colleagues and project teams in delivering projects on time and within budget.
8. Documentation and Administration: Supporting administrative tasks, managing documentation, and ensuring quality record-keeping for operations.
9. Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with internal teams (engineering, finance) and external stakeholders (contractors, customers).
10. Identifying Improvements: Actively identifying and targeting areas where the site and the wider business can improve processes and efficiency.
What You Bring A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. You must have graduated or are on track to graduate with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Physics or Environmental Science preferably with a renewable energy focus.
