About the Role
We’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional to play a key senior role within our Commercial Finance team. This is a high-impact position supporting our Student Accommodation Division—one of the group’s key growth areas. You’ll partner closely with the Operations Director and wider team to drive performance, provide insight, and influence strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a senior member of the Commercial Finance team, supporting the Student Accommodation Division.
2. Partner with the Operations Director and team to drive financial performance and achieve business targets.
3. Lead the delivery and ownership of period-end reporting, including presentation to senior stakeholders.
4. Produce and manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring a robust bottom-up approach with clear accountability.
5. Deliver insightful financial analysis, including KPIs and concise performance summaries.
6. Respond to financial queries and provide ongoing support to operational teams.
7. Develop and enhance reporting, processes, and commercial performance insights.
8. Provide analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
9. Identify and implement process improvements across the division.
10. Manage multiple workstreams and priorities to meet deadlines.
11. Support wider business initiatives, including system and process improvements.
12. Influence stakeholders to adopt a commercially focused mindset.
13. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through continuous learning.
Skills & Experience
14. Proven experience in Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering roles.
15. Background at Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or equivalent level.
16. Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
17. Advanced financial modelling and analysis skills, particularly in Excel.
18. Confident communicator, able to present financial information to non-finance audiences.
19. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
20. Experience contributing to or leading business change initiatives.
21. Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
22. Professionally qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
23. Collaborative mindset with a proactive, “right first time” approach.
24. Demonstrable experience partnering with senior management.
