About the Role
We are seeking a Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team of clinicians supporting children and young people at Bramfield House School. This cross‑disciplinary role focuses primarily on supporting Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, working closely with the therapy team to provide high‑quality, evidence‑based support tailored to pupils’ needs. You will collaborate with the education team and families and serve as a key contributor to the creation of communication and sensory profiles, placement plans, and the delivery of interventions.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions under the supervision of qualified clinicians. • Support pupils to engage in meaningful activities and interactions. • Assist with creating communication and sensory profiles. • Contribute to placement plans and deliver a range of interventions. • Observe therapy sessions, co‑facilitate staff training, attend multi‑agency meetings, and support ongoing service development. • Participate in continual professional development through internal forums and funded external training opportunities.
Essential Requirements
* Five GCSEs Grade C or above, including English
* Evidence of relevant post‑16 education
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required
* Experience as a therapy assistant or in a similar role (advantageous)
* Experience within an educational setting (advantageous)
* Skilled in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with SEN
* Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
* Ability to communicate complex, technical and clinically sensitive information effectively, in writing and verbally, to the specific client group, their carers and families, and a wide range of professionals outside the service
* Excellent organisational skills; advantageous experience completing administrative tasks for a team
