Electrical Control Design Engineer

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an EC&I Design Engineer for a permanent position in Nottingham (hybrid working). This role involves working within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.
Role
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at a control panel manufacturing facility in Haydock, with hybrid working options. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels and related systems.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, supporting construction during manufacturing, including change control.
* Understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
* Client-facing role, managing client expectations regarding project scope.
* Carry out, check, and approve engineering and design estimates, controlling and reporting costs related to progress, scope changes, and man-hours.
Experience & Qualifications
* BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* 5-10 years of professional engineering design or technical specialist experience.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH.
* Knowledge of electrical engineering, including developing, testing, and evaluating engineering designs.
* Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria.
Advantageous Knowledge
Experience in Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, Motor Control Centres, and Variable Drive Systems.
