About the Role Protocol Education is seeking a resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) school in Ferryhill. This setting supports students who may display challenging behaviour and require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage in education. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting students in the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups Assisting the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management Helping students to stay engaged and focused on their learning Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils Supporting students’ social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs Assisting with daily routines, transitions, and structured activities throughout the school day Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment About You Resilient, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure Confident working with children or young people with challenging behaviour A strong team player with good communication skills Passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed Willingness to learn and develop new skills on the job Previous experience in education or care is beneficial but not essential Why Join Protocol Education?
