About the role:
1. Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
2. Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
3. Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
4. Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
5. Research, design and prepare subject matter and materials for groups / pods.
6. Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
7. Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users
8. Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc
9. Work with Housing and Knowsley stakeholders to assess workforce training needs and improve identification and support for individuals affected by drug or alcohol use and their families.
10. Design and deliver tailored interventions, including online and classroom training, resource development, coaching, and shadowing opportunities.
11. Provide specialist support to partner agencies to raise awareness of services, build staff confidence in recognising substance use, and encourage engagement with support.
12. Candidates should have experience of working with people who use substances, delivering training, and collaborating with stakeholders and partner organisations.
About you:
13. Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
14. Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
15. Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
16. Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
17. Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
18. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
19. Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
20. Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
21. Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
