Overview
Healthcare Assistant, Band 3, 24 hours per week. A senior Healthcare Assistant is needed to join the existing team in the Endoscopy Unit of the NHS Foundation Trust. The unit is JAG accredited and delivers both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to all patients.
Responsibilities
* Deliver an effective and high quality service in relation to the specified clinical procedures within the Endoscopy Unit.
* Work as part of an established team and be an excellent communicator supporting day-to-day operations.
* Assess, deliver and record direct and indirect care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures as delegated by registered nurse/consultant.
* Contribute to the care of patients in transition from one care setting to another, working within defined limits and competence.
* Undertake a range of clinical procedures, manage complications, answer questions and monitor progress during/following the procedure.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Highly motivated, organised and able to work without direct supervision.
* Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and the ability to handle non-routine activities such as dealing with complications.
