Job Description

KS4 Teacher

Location: Erdington

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: 180 - 220 per day

Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

Monarch Education are proud to be working with a SEND school in Birmingham providing tailored education for secondary-aged students who have social, emotional, or mental health challenges that impact their learning and behaviour.

As a KS4 Teacher within this SEMH setting, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students' individual needs.

It is essential in this role to have sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and have experience within a SEND, Alternative Provision, PRU or a challenging mainstream school.

Key Responsibilities


* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across KS4 subjects, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for students with SEMH needs.
* Applying trauma-informed approaches that acknowledge the impact of adverse experiences on learning and behaviour.
* Monitor and assess students' academic progress, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
* Promote emotional well-being, resilience, and independence; adhere to all safeguarding policies.
* Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral staff, therapists, and external agencies to support holistic student development.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, behaviour, and interventions.

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Proven experience teaching KS4 students, preferably within SEMH, SEN, or alternative education settings.
* Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies to support vulnerable learners.
* Excellent behaviour management skills and patience.
* Empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
