About the Role
Join us as a Process Technology Lead at our vibrant fermentation facility in Menstrie! This is your chance to be at the forefront of fermentation technology, where your expertise in fermentation engineering and yeast physiology will shine.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Process Sciences, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D. Your mission? To define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and spearhead continuous improvement programs that ensure our fermentation processes are industry-leading.
You'll also lead exciting new product and process technology projects, coordinate product introductions, and engage with innovative global teams. Your insights will be invaluable as you lead or participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) as needed.

What You'll Be Doing
* Develop comprehensive expertise in all process technology at our Menstrie manufacturing site.
* Act as a thought leader in fermentation technology, shaping continuous improvement strategies through your deep expertise.
* Define KPIs for each fermentation process and oversee projects to enhance these metrics.
* Lead a team of Process Technologists to maintain and communicate control charts for fermentation KPIs.
* Drive optimization initiatives to boost yield, reduce cycle time, cut costs, and enhance safety and product quality.
* Analyze process data statistically and build models to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Provide expertise in aseptic design and SIP/CIP systems to minimize contamination and improve bioburden control.
* Support downstream operations to ensure reliable and high-performing processes.
* Facilitate successful tech transfers to manufacturing partners, including SOPs, equipment qualification, and training.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with RD&A, QA/QC, engineering, production, and strain teams to translate requirements into actionable plans.
* Mentor and coach junior scientists and technologists, fostering their growth through both formal and informal leadership.
* Maintain rigorous documentation of methods, results, and SOPs, contributing to IP capture and patent support.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to lab and process safety.
* Adhere to and promote biosafety, hygienic design, and quality management standards.
What You Can Bring to the Role
* PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Fermentation Engineering, or a related field is ideal.
* Proven industry experience in fermentation and biochemical engineering.
* Strong background in fermentation, biochemical engineering, and aseptic design.
* Expertise in yeast fermentation is highly desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Strong background in data analysis and statistics is preferred.
* Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
