Economic Regulatory Advisor - Nuclear

Sizewell C, Suffolk

Perm £75,000

This role involves working in a highly regulated environment that covers nuclear and construction safety, as well as economic regulatory requirements. The Economic Regulatory and Requirements Assurance team plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with these obligations.


Principal Accountabilities, Activities, and Decisions

1. Supporting the company's economic regulatory and compliance arrangements, including maintaining adequate policies and procedures.
2. Developing and implementing operational strategies for economic regulatory assurance, translating policy requirements to align with long-term objectives.
3. Serving as the main contact for the Independent Technical Advisor (ITA), building trust and managing the ITA contract, including performance monitoring.
4. Liaising with internal experts to meet ITA requests.
5. Collaborating with finance and reporting teams to ensure proper reporting to the ITA and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Establishing and managing the Liaison Committee, ensuring effective meetings.
7. Ensuring compliance with the economic license and stakeholder requirements.
8. Managing economic compliance matters independently, providing guidance, and acting as a role model internally.
9. Supporting and owning reporting to the Audit and Risk Committee, including producing reports and presentations.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

* Extensive experience in economic regulatory environments, preferably including the RAB model.
* Significant compliance experience, potentially within government, regulatory services, or finance sectors.
* Ability to develop professional relationships and influence colleagues at all levels, including executives and board members.
* Exceptional communication skills to motivate and persuade stakeholders.
* Strong organizational skills and experience working within a high-performing team.
* Excellent analytical skills for quick interpretation of information.
* Effective project management skills, with a methodical and diligent approach.
