My client is a well-established glazing specialist delivering high-spec windows, doors and curtain walling systems for contractors across London. With continued growth and a strong pipeline of complex projects, we’re looking to appoint an experienced Senior Designer to strengthen our technical team.
This role suits someone with deep façade experience who can take ownership of design delivery while supporting the ongoing development of the design function.
Role Overview
The Senior Designer will be responsible for producing fully coordinated design packages, resolving complex interface details and ensuring the technical accuracy of all façade design outputs. The position requires strong technical capability, confidence working with clients and consultants, and the ability to manage workload to programme deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce complete design packages: elevations, GAs, sections and detailed workshop drawings covering presswork, fixing, weathering and interface requirements.
• Develop and resolve complex interfaces, bespoke fixings, bracketry, pressings and flashings.
• Prepare technical specifications and supporting documents to demonstrate compliance.
• Deliver accurate first submissions and maintain design delivery to programme.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants and main contractor design teams.
• Attend design workshops, site meetings and inspections as needed.
• Liaise closely with Estimating, Procurement, QS, Production and Site teams.
• Support internal design governance, document control and client systems (e.g., Procore, Aconex).
• Participate in peer reviews and help maintain design quality standards.
• Provide guidance and support to junior designers.
• Carry out periodic site visits to confirm buildability and interface resolution.
Candidate Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ façade design experience, specifically curtain walling, windows and doors.
• Proven ability to design complex interfaces, fixings and aluminium pressings.
• Strong technical understanding of façade systems and structural integration.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organised, accurate and capable of managing workload under pressure.
