Overview
We are a growing research group in the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. Our lab studies somatic evolution across the tree of life, investigating how mutational processes vary between species with differing lifespans and disease resistance to better understand ageing, cancer and environmental health. We work with a broad range of organisms, from ants to primates, elephants and whales, and use histology, laser capture microdissection and ultra‑accurate genome sequencing to pioneer new approaches in comparative somatic evolutionary genomics.
