Tactical plan coordinator

Lowestoft
Northumbrian Water
Coordinator

Offer description

About the role

We’re offering a fantastic opportunity to join the Water Tactical Planning team at a pivotal moment in our journey. As we continue to strengthen our use of Copperleaf Portfolio to optimise investment decisions, this role will play a key part in shaping and expanding the service we provide to the wider business.

You’ll take ownership of developing and managing rolling tactical plans that support our water performance commitments and regulatory programmes of work. This will include balancing operational, maintenance and capital investment activity to ensure we deliver the best possible value while meeting stretching performance targets. Working closely with stakeholders across the Directorate and beyond, you’ll help design, implement and track plans that turn strategic priorities into practical, deliverable outcomes.

A core part of the role will be becoming a subject matter expert in Copperleaf Portfolio. You’ll run investment optimisation and scenario modelling to support the business plan, and following a structured training period, you’ll provide this capability as an ongoing service to teams across the organisation. Collaboration sits at the heart of the role, as you work alongside colleagues in the tactical planning team to shape capital programmes and produce insightful reporting on asset risk and investment.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence major investment decisions, add real value to regulatory delivery, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of water planning.

About you

We’re looking for someone who thrives on collaboration and can confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders, building strong relationships and influencing outcomes through clear, effective communication. You’ll feel at ease working with asset management systems and handling complex datasets, with the ability to turn detailed information into accurate, meaningful reports that support robust decision‑making.

A flexible, proactive mindset will be essential, along with strong time‑management skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines. We’re keen to hear from people who use their initiative to challenge existing processes whilst suggesting improvements. Whether that means improving investment planning approaches or identifying new ways to strengthen business processes and capabilities.

Experience or qualifications in asset management would be advantageous, as would an understanding of water networks or treatment processes. Knowledge of economics would also be beneficial, though not essential. Whether you’re a recent graduate looking to build your career or someone with relevant asset management experience, we’d love to hear how your skills, ideas and enthusiasm could make a positive impact as part of our team.

Please note this role requires a DBS to be completed prior to employment
