Vedder Price's London office is looking for an AML/Conflicts Analyst. The role involves managing AML due diligence and conflicts checking processes, understanding AML and conflict databases, producing conflict reports, analyzing workflow, and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of AML and conflicts, and a good understanding of a commercial law practice.
Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting daily conflicts checks for new business and lateral hires.
2. Data entry and analysis of conflicts data from various sources.
3. Understanding and applying firm policies on business intake and conflicts search processes.
4. Performing corporate research on related parties, affiliates, and clients.
5. Documenting conflict searches and organizational relationships.
6. Preparing reports and summarizing conflict check results.
7. Communicating potential issues to attorneys and staff.
8. Understanding legal relationships and incorporating them into conflict databases.
9. Maintaining and improving conflicts workflow systems.
10. Assigning client/matter numbers and managing waivers.
11. Responding to inquiries related to conflicts and intake.
12. Processing new business and lateral hire requests efficiently.
13. Managing Client Due Diligence and sanctions monitoring processes.
14. Assessing AML risks based on jurisdiction and activities.
15. Supporting compliance audits and reporting non-compliance issues.
16. Advising on AML and ethical compliance obligations.
17. Reviewing and creating AML policies and procedures.
18. Participating in compliance projects and other duties as assigned.
19. Occasional after-hours and weekend coverage as needed.
Skills & Competencies:

Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in legal studies or related field; a secondary degree is preferred.
* At least two years of legal research experience.
* Experience in compliance within a law firm or professional services environment.
* Relevant certifications like ICA Diploma in AML or Compliance preferred.
* Experience with conflicts of interest processing is highly desirable.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
