Join Our Team as a Gas Engineer (NCO2)

Your Role
As a Gas Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our operations, responsible for:
* Leading a dedicated team in locating and repairing public-reported gas escapes.
* Making safe and repairing gas service pipes or mains.
* Re-assessing previously visited escapes and laying mains/services.
* Driving efficiency while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
To thrive in this role, you must possess a full valid driver’s license and maintain a clean-shaven appearance for health and safety reasons. Your daily tasks will include:
* Team Leadership: Guiding your team through various tasks.
* Attending Gas Leaks: Responding promptly to emergencies.
* Groundwork Excavations: Carrying out excavations and reinstatements.
* Safety Measures: Utilizing appropriate signing, lighting, and guarding.
* Cable Avoidance: Ensuring safety during operations.
* Equipment Management: Delivering tools and equipment as needed.
* Deep Excavations: Working on excavations up to 2.5m.
* Standby Rota: Participating in standby duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications
To excel in this position, you should have:
* A full valid driver’s license.
* Experience in gas escape classification, testing, and diagnostics.
* Ability to plan and organize resources efficiently.
* Skills in laying, connecting, and maintaining pipework.
* Experience in emergency response and standby participation.
* Capability to provide training and support to team members.
* Strong communication skills for advising third parties.
* Ability to gather information and prepare reports.
* Experience in stock control and equipment management.
