Employment Contract: Monday to Friday, Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2026, Term time
Hours: 35 Hours per week
Purpose of the post:
To be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that align with Quality First Teaching (QFT) standards. This role involves planning, teaching, and assessing students while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with the Curriculum Manager and the wider school team to ensure effective curriculum delivery and positive student outcomes.
Responsibilities of the post:
Teaching & Learning
· Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that are aligned with the school's curriculum policy and ethos, embedding a broad and balanced range of topics that challenge and support students at all levels.
· Ensure differentiation and scaffolding are embedded in teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students.
· Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to create a stimulating learning environment.
· Foster independent learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.
· Work closely with Subject Coordinators and the Curriculum Manager to implement and refine curriculum plans.
Assessment & Student Progress
· Use formative and summative assessment methods to track student progress and inform future teaching. Ensure the school's marking policy is implemented consistently.
· Provide timely and constructive feedback, helping students understand their progress and areas for improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of student performance and contribute to progress reviews and reports.
· Work collaboratively with the IQA coordinator to ensure students are on the correct pathway of study and entered in for exams at the correct level.
· Produce half-termly ILP's and home school reports that clearly communicate progress and agreed targets.
Classroom & Behaviour Management
· Establish and maintain high expectations for student behaviour and engagement.
· Create a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes learning and well-being.
· Implement school-wide behaviour policies and trauma-informed approaches, such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity & Empathy)
· Support students to deescalate when they are experiencing difficulties regulating their behaviours / emotional responses using positive reinforcement and intervention strategies when needed.
Communication
· Ensure regular communication with teachers, parents and students and be responsible for producing reports as required.
· Maintain accurate and up to date records following all internal reporting procedures and use of any online recording systems. (I.e Eduspot, data spreadsheets etc)
· Attend or contribute information to meetings regarding individual students' progress such as EHCP Annual Reviews.
Wider School
· Provide cover / support where required across the school and assist in the supervision of students as required, for example, on trips, at break times or in exams, or in the event of staff shortages.
General Duties
* Support, uphold and contribute to the development of ES policies and procedures.
* Provide timely responses to emails or requests for information from the wider team and SLT.
* Manage your online calendar and ensure important deadlines are met, seeking support where required.
· Commitment to your own continuous professional development (CPD).
· Take an active part in appraising own work as part of the annual appraisal process.
· Attend company training days, team building, INSET Days and meetings as required.
· Be willing to travel sporadically between sites.
· Attend ES Team Awards ceremony held annually each December.
· Access 1:1 coaching and support from your line manager.

· Other reasonable duties may be allocated from time to time commensurate with the general character of the post and its grading.
