Are you an experienced teacher or tutor passionate about supporting young learners facing challenges? Our reputable education agency is seeking dedicated professionals with a strong background in education to join our team and provide vital tuition to vulnerable children in and around Swindon.
About the Role:
We work with children and young people who may have experienced instability such as being in and out of care, have significant gaps in their education, or face other barriers to learning. Most referrals are for primary-age pupils or secondary pupils working below their age-related levels.
You will be delivering personalised tuition tailored to each learner’s needs, helping them rebuild confidence, catch up academically, and thrive.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Tutors or teachers with several years’ experience working in the education sector
* Proven experience supporting vulnerable children and young people, including those with disrupted education or care backgrounds
* Skilled in adapting teaching approaches to suit individual needs, especially learners with large gaps in knowledge
* Experience working 1:1 with pupils at home, in care settings, or online
* Reliable, empathetic, and patient, with excellent communication skills
Key Details:
* Location: Tuition mainly takes place at the child’s home, in care homes, or online, across Swindon and nearby areas
* Pupil Age: Mostly primary-age children or secondary-age pupils working at a primary level
* Hours: Minimum availability of 10–15 hours per week or more, with flexible scheduling and the ability to build up to full time hours dependant on the amount of referrals you take on
* Subjects: Primarily English and Maths, with scope for other core areas depending on tutor expertise
Requirements:
* Relevant teaching qualifications or demonstrable tutoring experience
* Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one through the agency
* Commitment to working consistently and professionally with vulnerable learners
* Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
