You can apply if you're a substantive PC who has completed your two year probation by the closing date. We also welcome applications from Student Officers signed off as competent (around week 75 onwards). What does FCMU do? FCMU is right at the front of managing force wide demand. We make sure that only the crimes that genuinely need district investigation end up with frontline teams. Day to day, we: • Talk to victims over the phone and record crimes accurately • Allocate or file crimes based on the information we gather • Complete a large amount of the force's intel submissions • Unpick complex logs from other forces and agencies • Handle telephone appointments and carry out phone based investigations • Conduct telephone diary appointments, guiding victims through what's happened, recording crimes where appropriate, identifying any lines of enquiry, and explaining outcomes clearly and compassionately We're the start of the victim's journey - and we make a real impact on demand across the force. What are we looking for?
