We are now looking for a Biological Applications Scientist to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role
As a Biological Applications Scientist, you will play a key role in advancing the development and real-world application of our novel sensor platform.
Working within our world-class laboratory, you will design, refine, and validate assays, preparing biological reagents, ensuring smooth day-to-day lab operations, and helping build the foundations that allow our platform to excel.
Youll also lead comparative studies against alternative biosensor technologies, analyse complex datasets, and translate your findings into clear, actionable reports that drive internal decision-making.
Alongside your lab-based work, you will:
- Collaborate widely across the organisation and beyond
- Present your results to colleagues
- Manage projects with external validation partners
- Represent us at conferences and exhibitions to showcase our capability and potential
About You
To be considered as a Biological Applications Scientist, you will need:
- Experience working in a research laboratory (industrial or academic)
- At least 12 months experience running biological assays via ELISA or other label-free technologies OR 12 months experience developing novel biochemical coupling layers
- Experience writing, reviewing, and following Standard Operating Procedures
- High competency in numeracy, IT, and presentation skills
- The ability to work in a team
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a closely relevant subject
