We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Geologist to join a growing and well-respected ground investigation consultancy working across Essex and the wider South East. Based near Colchester, this role offers the chance to work on a broad range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a geology graduate or early-career Engineering Geologist looking to gain hands-on experience and progress within a supportive and technically strong team.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering ground investigation projects across Essex, splitting your time between site and office-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising ground investigations including trial pits and boreholes
Logging soils and rocks in accordance with BS5930
Soil and groundwater sampling and monitoring
Overseeing drilling contractors on site
Preparing factual and interpretative reports
Supporting geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessments
Maintaining high health & safety standardsRequirements
Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or similar
1-4 years' experience in ground investigation
Strong understanding of site investigation techniques
Full UK driving licence
Good communication and report writing skillsDesirable
Experience working on projects across Essex / South East
Phase 1 & Phase 2 reporting experience
Knowledge of contaminated land risk assessments
