Main duties of the job
Development and support of the workforce is important to us and all midwives are provided with a full range of mandatory training, including obstetric and neonatal skills drills. Learning beyond registration is encouraged and all midwives are supported to undertake the Mentoring course, Examination of the Newborn (NIPE) course and Leadership course. We are about to launch our highly anticipated new Maternity electronic patient record.

Education and Qualifications
* RM
* Evidence of undertaking a recognised course of study in teaching and assessing.
* Evidence of professional development and regular study since qualification.
* Educated to 1st degree level or working towards.
Skills & Experience
* Sufficient recent experience as a midwife
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Ability to demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills.
* Effective leadership skills and an understanding of leadership theory and practice
* Evidence of having developed team working skills and implemented teamwork practices.
* Knowledge of clinical audit and effectiveness systems.
* Developed and implemented safe systems of work to ensure health and safety of staff, patient and visitors.

* Skilled practitioner who can act as a role model.
* Ability to work within a team and develop others.
* Organised approach to work.
* Honest and trustworthy.
