Overview

The Radiotherapy Department currently has vacancies for Band 6 Radiographers. This would be ideal for anyone wishing to develop both personally and professionally in a busy and forward thinking Radiotherapy Department. We have two full time posts and one 0.8 WTE part time post. You will rotate through all treatment and pre-treatment areas. You must be HCPC registered, possess a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent and be fully flexible with shift requirements. Due to the variable nature of the work, you will be required to cover early and late shifts and possible weekend shifts as appropriate.


Department and Equipment

We currently have two Tomotherapy units, two Varians with dedicated SRS platform, two Varian TrueBeams with AlignRT, all interfaced with Mosaiq in a paperless environment. We also offer HDR and superficial skin treatments within the department. The pre-treatment section comprises two Canon wide bore CT scanners and Raystation treatment planning system.


Responsibilities

* To work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT), communicating fully with other team members and to be involved in the total care of patients undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.
* To give support and advice to patients and relatives before, during and after treatment.
* To ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times within the resources available.
* To contribute towards the continual monitoring of the service to comply with the local and national guidelines.
* To give support and technical advice to staff and students, undertaking training and supervision of junior staff, students and Apprentices.


Qualifications and Requirements

* HCPC registered.
* BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent.
* Fully flexible with shift requirements, including cover for early/late shifts and possible weekend shifts.
* For international applicants: if qualification is from a country not on the HCPC list of qualifying countries, evidence of English language proficiency at IELTS level 7 or higher is required.
* Willingness to work within a team and contribute to service improvement.

Visa and Immigration

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full-time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. If you are a Student visa holder, options include applying for a Graduate visa, or having completed your course and applying for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or the Trust sponsoring you as a Skilled Worker with studies completed within 3 months of start date.
