A leading facilities management provider, is actively seeking a Lead Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to join their team at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. The Role
As a Lead Mechanical Fitter/Engineer, you’ll:
Proactively undertake maintenance, repairs, and inspections of mechanical building services, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, operational procedures, legislation, and guidance.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and associated systems according to program, personal competence, and training, and respond promptly to ad-hoc breakdown requests.
Assist with installation work for minor upgrades and adaptations, and systematically carry out fault-finding on malfunctioning equipment in a logical and safe manner.
Ensure safe working practices in accordance with statutory and company guidelines, including the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
Provide technical advice and problem-solving on steam boilers, water systems, and heating issues, and contribute to laundry/lifecycle planning and input.
Maintain accurate records, both written and electronic, diligently complete all required job cards, and collaborate flexibly with other trades and colleagues, including participation in the callout/standby rota after a qualifying period.

To be successful in the role of Lead Mechanical Fitter/Engineer, you’ll bring:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter/Engineer, with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
Strong understanding of mechanical building services and associated systems.
Ability to carry out systematic fault finding and assist with installation work.
Excellent adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
Willingness to work flexibly, assist other trades, and participate in an on-call rota.
Additional skills in technical issues with steam boilers, water systems, heating, and laundry/lifecycle planning.
