A day in the life of an Ascent EFT QFI
As an Instructor (Airborne), you’ll deliver high-quality airborne, synthetic, and classroom instruction on the Prefect T Mk1, guiding trainees through the EFT syllabus. Most of your time will be spent flying, teaching general handling (including aerobatics), basic instrument flying, and low-level navigation at 500 ft AGL. You’ll also lead briefs, technical lessons, and simulator sessions, while mentoring students to meet rigorous safety and performance standards. Your role supports continuous improvement and upholds the highest levels of flight safety and professionalism.
What will make you successful
You’ll already be a qualified pilot with instructional experience and a strong understanding of military or regulated aviation environments. You’ll also bring:
* A CPL (A), FI (A), Instructional Rating and 500+ hours as 1st pilot (PIC) or be a Qualified Military Pilot
* Unrestricted Class One Medical or PME
* Strong communication and mentoring skills
* Confidence delivering to diverse audiences in varied environments
* A commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and team collaboration
* Familiarity with UKMFTS and the EFT syllabus (preferred)
Desirable: Aerobatics Rating
