We are working with a specialist engineering organisation operating within the water management and flood defence sector, seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Service Engineer to join their project delivery and operations team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to support a wide range of critical infrastructure assets across the UK.
This is a field-based position, requiring weekly travel nationwide, supporting both project delivery and ongoing customer aftercare. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of water control and flood defence equipment across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Support installation teams by carrying out quality inspections and resolving on-site issues
Perform planned and reactive service, maintenance, and repair on water control and flood defence equipment
Diagnose faults where issues are not immediately clear
Assist with commissioning of newly installed systems
Conduct site surveys to support pre-contract activities
Provide input to engineering teams regarding parts and maintenance requirements
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and time logs
Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSEQ standards and documentation
Requirements
Electrical qualifications essential (Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering or similar)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Strong mechanical engineering experience
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel nationwide on a weekly basis or being based in Retford
