Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Band 6 Anaesthetic/Recovery Practitioner to join our team in Day Surgery, based at Withybush Day Surgery. The team covers elective Day Surgery for various specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Dermatology, and Pain. You will have the ability to support, teach, and develop staff, facilitating the delivery of high standards of care, with the possibility of rotation to Main Theatres.
The unit consists of 2 theatres and 1st stage trolley spaces. You are required to communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, supporting the Band 7s in the day-to-day leadership and management of the unit. You must be a Registered Nurse or ODP with an accredited Anaesthetic course, recent proven Anaesthetic experience, and an accredited advanced life support qualification.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a flexible practitioner who delivers the highest standard of perioperative care and is keen to develop their skills. You should have the motivation, vision, and leadership qualities necessary to support and develop theatre practitioners to facilitate excellent patient care in the operating theatres.
As a key member of the senior team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs on an ongoing basis, coordinating the care provided by all members of the perioperative team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
