Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + Car Allowance
Overview
An established global real estate consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its Project & Building Services division, specifically within the Special Market team based in Central London.
The team delivers predominantly student accommodation schemes, alongside selected retail and healthcare projects. With strong sector expertise in student accommodation, they manage both refurbishment portfolios and new-build developments typically ranging from £20m–£30m.
Current instructions include large-scale refurbishment programmes for institutional investors (delivered within constrained university holiday periods), new-build student accommodation developments, and university-led works across London and the South East. Projects are primarily administered under JCT forms of contract.
The Role
This is a client-facing, delivery-focused Project Manager position offering genuine ownership of schemes from inception through to completion. The successful candidate will lead projects with support from senior leadership, while taking responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead new-build and refurbishment schemes (c. £20m–£30m) from pre-construction through delivery
* Act as Contract Administrator under JCT contracts (essential)
* Manage and coordinate consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders
* Maintain programme oversight and ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality expectations
* Provide confident, proactive client communication and reporting
* Support senior team members while demonstrating autonomy in project leadership
Candidate Profile
* Proven Project Management experience within consultancy, Development Management, or Main Contractor environments
* RICS preferred, but not required
* Strong Contract Administration experience (JCT essential)
* Technically sound, organised, and detail-oriented
* Confident, professional, and highly client-facing
* Able to independently lead projects with appropriate oversight
* A Quantity Surveyor who has transitioned into Project Management will also be considered
