Trainee Automotive Mechanic / Service Technician – Wolverhampton
Join Tesla’s flagship Service Technician Traineeship Programme. This 24-month training programme provides expert career training and mentorship from service industry professionals to help you become a Tesla Service Technician.
What to Expect
* Start Date: 1 February 2026
* Duration: 24 months
* Time Type: Full-Time (shift based - including weekend working)
All programme training will be hosted from our dedicated training facilities in Heathrow and/or Manchester. The recruitment process consists of two stages: a short telephone screening call with a Tesla Recruiter, and an in-person group assessment session at select locations.
What You'll Do
* Learn and understand how to perform basic inspections, repairs and maintenance of Tesla vehicles
* Always follow safety protocols and maintain professionalism
* Learn effectively and efficiently through a fast-paced hybrid training schedule
* Effectively handle multiple priorities, workload, and deadlines
* Pass the mid-point and end-point programme assessments to graduate
You will engage in industry-leading in-house training with practical on-the-job experience. Your progression will be reviewed at key training intervals to equip you with the tools and skills to succeed beyond the 24-month programme. Technical Modules & Enrichment
During the programme you’ll study modules such as: Chassis, Body, Glazing, Electrical, Infotainment, Driver Assistance Systems, Drivetrain, Thermal Systems, Vehicle inspection and Service. Enrichment weeks offer exposure to other Tesla functions to broaden your skillset beyond the core programme. Upon completion, you may apply for full-time Tesla Service Technician roles that align with your strengths and aspirations.
What You'll Bring
* Prior experience with tools, diagnostics, or repair processes (education, work, or personal projects)
* NVQ/IMI diploma in vehicle maintenance is desirable, but practical know-how and a willingness to learn on the job are welcomed
* Full UK or EU Driving Licence for at least 1 year by start date
* Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, hands-on training programme
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A safety-first attitude
* Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
* Professionalism and ability to represent Tesla positively
* Willingness to travel to different Tesla offices or events when required
* Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends, mornings, and evenings
* Not be in full-time education when the programme starts
