GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to support pupils in a specialist provision based in Rotherham. Role Overview: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in the classroom. Responsibilities as a SEMH TA: Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs. Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional well-being. Assist in managing challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff. Contribute to individual learning and behaviour plans. Requirements for SEMH TA: Previous experience supporting SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential. A patient, calm, and non-judgemental approach to behaviour management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps). Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
