Job Description
Joining Great Bear as a Assistant Management Accountant at our Lutterworth depot, ,you will contribute to the overall success of the site, you will report directly to the site Senior Management Accountant responsible for delivering Management Information to the General Manager, Operations team, Finance and the Board. You will be responsible for the production of daily, weekly and monthly finance reporting to a review level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production of the weekly costings for a number of operations run from our customer-focused sites
2. Preparation of Management Accounts including posting journals
3. Investigation and explanation of variances in the Management Accounts
4. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
5. Support with the production of the monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussion with customers at review meetings
6. Invoice and credit control customers and update the Company cash forecast
7. Review supplier invoices against their purchase orders and assist in the authorisation process
8. Deal with site suppliers including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis
9. Assist with the annual budget process
10. Assist with quarterly forecasting
11. Collate and issue various internal reporting
12. Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects
13. Filing and admin to support the accounts team as required
Qualifications
14. Part qualified Accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
15. Proven attention to detail and analytical approach.
16. Strong Excel skills and comfortable using MSWord and PowerBI.
17. Questioning and enquiring approach with a real desire to seek out new methods that will allow more efficient provision of accurate financial data.
18. Comfortable working individually and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and improvement ideas for the benefit of the Company and its staff.
19. Hard working and flexible, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
20. Keen to get involved and a team player.
21. Good communicator at all levels in the business
22. Have the ability to take on further responsibility and progress into a Management Accountant role.
23. Previous experience in a Finance role, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income matching
24. Experience of working in a similar industry is an advantage
