Principal Civil Design Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £62,000 + Benefits
Key Responsibilities
* Leading design and delivery of infrastructure and drainage projects
* Preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)
* SuDS and detailed drainage system design
* Earthworks and levels strategy
* S106, build‑over and S278 applications
* Public realm and highway improvements
* Hard landscaping and external works design
* Coordinating with stakeholders, local authorities and clients
* Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior staff
* Ensuring compliance with design standards and project deadlines
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in UK civil engineering design
* Proven leadership on development infrastructure projects
* Strong client‑facing skills and project coordination ability
* In‑depth experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and MicroDrainage (WinDes)
* Solid understanding of UK planning policies and approval processes
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status with ICE
