The External Quality Engineer (Electro/Mechanical) provides a vital role to the business in delivering timely triage, professional investigation/reporting of product field failure reports (FFRs), trends and identification of quality improvement themes to ensure robust countermeasures and preventative solutions are implemented.
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…
* As part of the UK Supply External Quality team receiving FFR complaints via the Fusion Product Life Cycle (PLM) system, taking ownership to undertake detailed warranty investigations and reporting through to timely conclusion.
* Analysis of field quality data to identify improvement themes
* Active engagement, leading and participation with improvement teams, encouraging the use of Best Practice and appropriate problem solving techniques to eliminate root cause, driving improvement activity
* Product testing to confirm failure modes
* Maintain, report and feedback External Quality performance and improvement statistics underpinned by appropriate measures to identify and support continuous improvement theme activity and departmental objectives
Your previous experience is likely to include….
* Background in product manufacturing industry
* Proven experience working within Design/Manufacturing Engineering/Quality Engineering
* Design and development of custom test equipment
* Use of workshop equipment (Oscilloscope, Signal Function Generator, Frequency counter etc.)

* Possess a background in Electro-mechanical engineering

* Demonstrate understanding of manufacturing/material production techniques
* Take an analytical approach
* Understand fundamental design requirements and recommend improvements based on findings
* Understand and initiate improvements to meet the changing product compliance requirements
