Placement Coordinator
Location: Southampton (Office-Based)
Contract: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £18.22 per hour (Umbrella) (£14.46 PAYE an hour)

About the Role: Southampton City Council is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Placement Coordinator to support its Adult Social Care Teams. This is a non-frontline, office-based role ideal for candidates with experience in social care settings (though not requiring a qualified practitioner).
You’ll play a key role in sourcing support packages and placements, ensuring contractual accuracy, and liaising with social care teams, finance, and external providers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and coordinate support packages and care placements for adults
* Ensure individual contracts and documentation are accurate and in place
* Work closely with the Adult Social Care teams and Clinical Commissioning Group (Hampshire, Southampton & Isle of Wight)
* Liaise with the Finance Team to help resolve any issues relating to care provision
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with social workers, service providers, and internal partners
Requirements:
* Experience in social care or similar administrative settings
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately at pace
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
* Confidence using systems and handling sensitive information
