We are seeking skilled and committed tutors to deliver high‑quality 1 to 1 tuition for pupils in the Skelmersdale area. We have several new referrals requiring immediate start, and we welcome applications from qualified teachers and experienced tutors with strong subject knowledge.
ROLE OVERVIEW
You will provide personalised, structured tuition to pupils who require additional academic support. Sessions will take place either in the home or at a suitable community location. Tutors must be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons, track progress, and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
CURRENT REFERRALS
Referral 1: Year 8 - Maths and English (EHCP) Location: Skelmersdale, home tuition Hours: 6 hours per week (3 sessions of 2 hours) Focus: KS3 Maths and English, confidence building, structured learning Additional Information: Pupil has mild ASD and benefits from a calm, consistent approach Start Date: Immediate
Referral 2: Year 10 - GCSE Science Location: Skelmersdale Library or home setting Hours: 4 hours per week Focus: Combined Science (Foundation), exam preparation, retrieval practice Additional Information: Student has gaps in learning due to prolonged absence Start Date: Immediate
Referral 3: Year 6 - Maths (SATs Preparation) Location: Home tuition Hours: 3 hours per week Focus: reasoning, targeted SATs preparation Additional Information: Parent seeking structured, engaging sessions leading up to SATs Start Date: Immediate
REQUIREMENTS
* Qualified teacher status or strong tutoring experience
* Excellent subject knowledge in the relevant curriculum areas
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
* Ability to deliver engaging, personalised sessions
* Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
* Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
