Undertaking street lighting repairs, servicing, inspections, and new installations including testing and certification.
Assisting in the delivery of all capital and revenue projects to manage and maintain the transport network street lighting assets in a safe and operational condition.
The post will be based within the Roads Network Operations Team at Broomhill depot, Kirkintilloch.
The Council’s Roads Neighbourhood Services is looking to recruit a Street Lighting Electrician to undertake maintenance works, inspections, testing, and new project installations/upgrades to LED. Duties include assisting technicians and the Senior Technician in providing a professional service to the Council and other stakeholders/departments, ensuring best value is delivered at all times.
The postholder will be allocated work by the technician or senior technician and may have an apprentice on occasion.
Tasks include conducting surveys/audits, maintaining statutory records, installing new lighting projects to specified designs and documentation, including sign-off certification.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, determined to succeed, and committed to delivering first-class results with a strong customer focus. They must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
East Dunbartonshire Council operates an out-of-hours emergency standby rota to ensure the street lighting network's safe operation. The candidate is expected to participate and will receive prescribed allowances and payments while on duty, including overtime for activities such as Christmas decorations installation.
