Overview

You will assist the Cardio Respiratory Manager in delivering an efficient and cost-effective service to the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will support compliance with professional standards at local and national levels and perform ECG and Holter monitoring on inpatient and outpatient basis.

You will fulfill a range of duties including leading 12 ECGs (routine and urgent) for all directors. You will fit ambulatory cardiac monitors as well as arrhythmia event recorders, and fit/download 24-hour non-invasive blood pressure monitors. The role includes general administrative duties and providing high quality personalised care in line with agreed local and national standards, with patient safety as a priority in line with Health and Safety legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.


Responsibilities

* Lead and perform ECGs (routine and urgent) as required by the clinical team.
* Fit and download ambulatory cardiac monitors and arrhythmia event recorders.
* Fit and download 24-hour non-invasive blood pressure monitors.
* Carry out general administrative duties to support service delivery.
* Provide high quality, personalised patient care in accordance with local and national standards.
* Promote patient safety and assist with compliance with health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Support the aims and vision of the Trust and contribute to continuous service improvement.


Qualifications and Skills

* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.
* Basic general education to 16 years.
* Functional literacy and numeracy skills.
* Basic keyboard skills.
* Willingness to undertake an in-house training programme to gain practical and theoretical knowledge required for the post and to support gaining a Certificate in Electrocardiography.
