We are looking to recruit Sterilisation and Decontamination Supervisors at Ipswich Hospital. In this role you will join the department’s group of team leaders looking after the busy, fast-moving Endoscopy Reprocessing and Sterile Services Department.
Responsibilities
* Assist in providing a complete Decontamination service, including the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes.
* Supervise, organise and allocate work and/or train less experienced/qualified staff.
* Use knowledge and skills when making decisions with regard to non‑conformances.
* Assist the Decontamination Operational Manager by supervising, organising and allocating work to your team and training members of staff.
* Monitor stocks of raw materials and take appropriate action on any deficiencies, assist in the evaluation of new products.
* Attend the weekly team leader meeting and bimonthly staff meetings.
* Complete daily departmental checks, including consumable stock levels, and complete shift handovers.
* Liaise with service users and service providers to help ensure a smooth running of the department, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a decontamination service is desired.
* Strong experience as a supervisor or team leader in medical device manufacturing.
* Knowledge of endoscopy re‑processing procedures.
