Netrako is a regional consultancy integrating finance, engineering, and procurement for the energy and materials sectors. We blend technical depth with disciplined financial thinking to help clients navigate investment, operations, and risk across complex value chains in the MENA region.
About the internship
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you'll sit at the intersection of numbers and strategy. You'll turn operational data into clear financial narratives that inform project decisions (pricing, budgeting, capex/opex trade-offs) and corporate finance initiatives (forecasting, working-capital management, performance tracking). It's a hands-on role with real exposure to how finance shapes engineering and procurement choices.
What you'll do
* Build and maintain lean financial models (3-statement links, cash-flow waterfalls, variance bridges, unit economics).
* Clean and structure datasets, reconcile sources, and develop decision-grade KPIs (margin, cash conversion, utilization).
* Prepare concise memos and slides that frame assumptions, sensitivities, and risks for non-financial stakeholders.
* Support budget cycles, monthly closes, and ad-hoc analyses (scenario planning, FX exposure, procurement savings).
* Refresh dashboards and scorecards; document methods to keep work auditable and repeatable.
What you'll learn
Sharpen core modeling skills, develop an instinct for materiality, and see how financial insight drives commercial and technical decisions. Expect mentor feedback, pragmatic best practices (version control, assumption hygiene, data lineage), and opportunities to contribute to client-facing deliverables. Upon successful completion, you'll receive a certificate and a recommendation letter.
About you
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in finance, economics, engineering, data/analytics, or a related field.
* Fluent with Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables, basic scenario analysis); comfortable turning raw data into tidy tables.
* Familiarity with Python or SQL is a plus.
* Clear writer in English (Arabic a plus); curious, reliable, and skilled at distilling complexity into simple, defensible takeaways.
Practical details
* Part-time, flexible hours; fully remote.
* Unpaid internship designed for learning and portfolio development.
