Job description: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a welcoming secondary school in St Helens, providing 1:1 support for students aged 11 to post-16. You will play a vital role in helping students with moderate learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and some Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs access the curriculum, build confidence, and thrive in school. Key Responsibilities: * Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of individual students. * Assist with academic learning, personal development, and emotional regulation. * Support students in and out of the classroom, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement. * Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support. * Promote inclusion and create a safe, nurturing learning environment. Essential Criteria: * Experience supporting young people with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. * Ability to build positive relationships with students who may present with challenging behaviour. * Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and well-being. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. Desirable: * Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent. * Experience working in a secondary or post-16 setting.
