Job Title: Hydraulic Modeller
Location: Based near Reading
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000
This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an innovative, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Company, renowned for lending their expertise to the transport, infrastructure, and environmental landscapes. They are on the lookout for an experienced, enthusiastic Hydraulic Modeller, willing to take on a variety of projects alongside a growing team of experts, based near the beautiful, conveniently-located town of Reading.

Responsibilities
* Creating models using software packages such as Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow
* Authoring Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Flood Consequence Assessments, Drainage Strategies, etc.
* Producing Nutrient Neutrality Assessments, hydrological assessments, natural flood management, re-wilding, and wetland management projects
* Supporting colleagues, generating technical reports based on data that has been collated collaboratively
* Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
Required skills and experience
* A Degree in Hydrology or Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant field)
* Experience of working in a hydraulic modelling/flood risk role, within a UK-based consultancy
* Excellent working knowledge of relevant software systems (including Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow)
* A keen interest in hydrology, including experience of having worked on hydrological projects for residential and commercial projects
* Demonstrable understanding of all aspects of flood risk and drainage, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
* Experience of working closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
* Keen interest in data interpretation and manipulation, particularly when applied to report-writing
* Hold a valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
* Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
* A keen interest in climate change and its effects on water-based environments
