We are seeking a skilled Data&BI Analyst to join our growing 177-person company (120 in the UK, 50 in the US) to drive data-driven decision-making through comprehensive analysis of our internal company operations and performance. This is a pivotal role for someone who is passionate about data analysis and wants a crash course on driving business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
5. Analyse core company data across departments
6. Design and build interactive dashboards using BI tools for key business metrics including, but not limited to, company growth metrics, product usage and operational efficiency.
7. Develop self-service analytics capabilities for department managers based on data needs and priorities.
8. Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic business decisions
9. Create executive-level reporting for board meetings and investor updates
10. Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms
11. Be part of building and deciding our BI and data technology stack
Data Management & Infrastructure
12. Work closely with Data Engineering to implement data governance practices, ensuring data quality and acting as a key data stakeholder
13. Document data sources, definitions, and methodologies
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
14. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
15. Demonstrable experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role
16. Proficiency in SQL and querying from a variety of data sources (databases, data warehouses, SaaS reporting applications)
17. Experience with BI tools (ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
18. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modelling
19. Understanding of statistical concepts and data visualisation principles
20. Optional: Programming experience in Python or R for data analysis
Business Acumen
21. Ability to learn core business metrics across departments and ability to translate the requirements into business insights with the support of the leadership team
22. Experience working with company operational and/or financial data
23. Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements
Soft Skills
24. Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
25. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
26. Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards
27. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
28. Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
29. Experience in companies of similar size (100-200 employees) and/or being one of the first BI/Data employees
30. Certifications in relevant BI tools or data analysis platforms
31. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
32. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
Reporting Structure
This role reports to the Chief of Staff and will work closely with department heads across the organisation.
