Job location: Stafford, Cannock & Seisdon. This is a part-time role (8 PA's per week / 4 days).
Responsibilities
The Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) are offering an exciting opportunity for a Speciality Doctor to join the service and provide medical psychiatric support across both inpatient and community settings. Inpatient services are located at St George's Hospital, Stafford. You will be welcomed and supported by a full multidisciplinary team and will maintain medical support from a medical perspective to ensure delivery of safe and high-quality services. You will undertake assessments of service users referred by various stakeholders within the referral to treatment targets set by NHS England. There will be four dedicated outpatient clinics or routine home visit sessions per week, with roughly one new patient and four follow-ups per clinic (variations may occur).
As part of this role, you will be required to:
* Undertake a full medical assessment of all referred service users.
* Interpret, diagnose and process pathology test results and ECGs and establish appropriate management.
* Ensure prescribing practice is based on current evidence and compliant with local policies and guidelines.
* Ensure the confidentiality of service user information and records in line with Information Governance standards.
* Involve service users, families and carers in care planning, as appropriate.
* Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach managing the health needs of service users using evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Essential
* Full registration with the GMC
* MBChB or equivalent
* At least 4 years of postgraduate training (two of which must be in psychiatry)
Desirable
* Degree such as MSc or MD; MRCPsych
Experience
Essential
* Adult community mental health / Integrated Mental Health teams
* Experience of teaching and training
Desirable
* Experience of management
* Experience of service development and planning
