A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled teacher to join our inclusive school from September 2025. The Head teacher and Governors of Mersey Drive Community Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic, and experienced full-time teacher to lead teaching and learning in our ‘Hive’ ASC Provision class.
The successful candidate will have experience of, or an interest in working with children with Autism.
We wish to appoint someone who:
* Is an outstanding, experienced practitioner passionate about inclusive learning
* Has drive, energy, ambition, and high expectations for all
* Has a good understanding of the wide-ranging needs of children from diverse backgrounds
* Has recent experience of teaching pupils with additional needs
* Has strong team working skills
* Has excellent interpersonal skills
Our inclusive ethos: "The school is inclusive, and all pupils greatly benefit from the enhanced autistic spectrum condition (ASC) provision, which works effectively to support inclusion of ASC children and children with communication difficulties into mainstream classrooms. Pupils understand the importance of inclusion. Staff are sensitive in their understanding that social communication difficulties and autism are lifelong conditions, and pupils will face different challenges during their time at school. The school staff work together to help pupils address these challenges while developing their academic skills. These pupils, and others with special educational needs and disabilities, are fully involved in school life." (Ofsted)
We can offer you:
* A friendly and nurturing school environment
* Enthusiastic children who love learning
* A leadership team committed to making a real difference for all pupils
* The support of inspirational colleagues
* A supportive governing body working closely with the school to help all members reach their potential
Visits are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the School Office.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory disclosure under the Disclosure and Barring Service.
In line with safer recruitment, please ensure your application covers your full employment history, noting reasons for any gaps. Successful candidates will need to provide relevant references for the past ten years; character references will not be accepted.
