Senior Construction Engineer – Reading Office
Wood seeks an experienced Senior Construction Engineer to join the Reading Home Office team, supporting the successful delivery of large‑scale projects across a range of sectors. The role will be based in Reading with hybrid working considered.
The Role
Ideal for a senior professional who can develop construction execution methodologies and adopt a structured approach to work-packaging. The role may also suit an ambitious Construction Engineer seeking to progress to more responsibility. The candidate will report directly to the Construction Engineering Manager and must be willing to undertake business trips and assignments away from the home office.

Responsibilities
* Support construction involvement from concept through to EPC/EPCM
* Lead or support development of the project Construction Execution Plan as scale permits
* Provide construction expertise for design development and project planning to schedule activities realistically and efficiently
* Support constructability and HAZCON reviews
* Implement Advanced Work Packaging, including construction work area, package breakdowns and Path of Construction
* Perform construction feasibility and method studies
* Ensure contract deliverables, documents and specifications meet project needs and schedule
* Coordinate preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, requisitions and bid summaries for temporary facilities and construction equipment
* Classify and coordinate heavy‑lift, transportation and traffic movement studies
* Support preparation of the project estimate to ensure scope completeness and construction input accuracy
* Identify and control construction deliverables using the Wood Document Management System
* Mentor and assist in training Construction Engineers
Qualifications
* Engineering degree
* Experience in FEED/EPC on new energy or downstream oil & gas projects (UK and/or overseas)
Desirable
* Site experience
* HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH)
* Advanced Work Packaging experience (WorkPacks, O3)
* Completion Management Systems experience (CoConsole, GoCompletions)
* Planning construction logistics and execution experience (heavy lift, plot layout, access, temporary facilities, site workforce and plant movement)
* Leadership of construction constructability and HAZCON risk assessment
