Your Role in Synergy's Success The Junior Buyer will support the procurement function by building foundational buying skills, supporting supplier management, and helping ensure materials are available on time. The focus will be on learning, developing confidence in negotiation, supporting cost-control activities, and contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day purchasing operations. How You Will Contribute Support day‑to‑day purchasing activity, ensuring raw materials are ordered on time and supply requirements are met Liaise with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and proactively manage delays or supply risks Work closely with Operations and Demand Planning to maintain supply continuity Monitor stock levels, lead times, and material availability to support production needs Maintain accurate supplier and material data within AX Dynamics/365 and MRP systems Update pricing, lead times, MOQs, and stock information across internal systems Assist with supplier negotiations and review proposed price increases Support cost‑saving and continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement team Monitor market trends and share relevant insights with the wider business Prepare reports and presentations for supplier performance reviews Research new suppliers and products to support quality, value, and service improvements Monitor supplier quality and service performance, helping resolve issues where needed Support wider procurement projects and contribute to global sourcing activity Ensure compliance with internal procedures and audit requirements Key Ingredients for Success CIPS Diploma or degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or Procurement Previous experience within Purchasing / Procurement would be advantageous Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage data accurately and prioritise workload effectively Confident communicator, able to build relationships internally and externally Proactive and creative mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve ways of working Experience within the flavour, food, or manufacturing sector would be beneficial Knowledge of ERP systems, specifications databases, or internal systems would be an advantage Strong problem‑solving skills with a commercial and solutions‑focused approach Our Commitment to our People We are a diverse and growing workforce of over 1,000 people across eight countries globally.
