About the Role Gozney is seeking a Senior Product Engineer (Sustaining) to play a pivotal role in the post-launch health, performance, and continuous improvement of our product portfolio. This role owns the technical investigation, resolution, and lifecycle improvement of in-market products. You will lead root cause investigations, define and help implement corrective actions, and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Customer Experience, and our Asian manufacturing partners to improve reliability, quality, cost, and manufacturability. This position is deeply anchored in real-world product performance. You will be trusted to make sound engineering judgements, prioritise issues based on risk and impact, and drive improvements through to implementation and validation. You will also act as a mentor and technical authority within the sustaining space. Responsibilities Product Sustaining and Issue Resolution Own technical investigations for in-market products, including production issues, field failures, warranty claims, and customer returns. Lead robust root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods. Define, implement, and validate corrective and preventive actions to address quality, reliability, safety, and performance issues. Ensure fixes are fully verified and documented prior to release into production. Cross-Functional Technical Leadership Act as the primary technical interface between Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Customer Experience for sustaining topics. Work closely with global manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve issues and help implement improvements. Clearly communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership. Continuous Product Improvement Identify and deliver ongoing product improvements to enhance performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost. Support cost-down activities through technical review, quality oversight, and validation, while contributing improvement ideas and ensuring safety, quality, and user experience are upheld. Review existing designs and documentation to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. Verification, Validation, and Risk Management Define verification strategies for sustaining changes and lead validation activities. Contribute to and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R documentation for in-market products. Support post-launch monitoring and early-life issue tracking for new products. Documentation and Process Discipline Produce clear, high-quality engineering documentation, including investigation reports, test plans, specifications, drawings, and SOP updates. Ensure changes are accurately released through the appropriate change control processes. Maintain high standards of data integrity, traceability, and technical clarity. Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing Provide technical guidance and mentorship to sustaining and junior engineers. Share best practices in investigation, validation, and sustaining engineering methods across the team. Contribute to building consistent, scalable sustaining engineering processes. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience. Significant experience in a sustaining, manufacturing, or product support engineering role within a consumer, automotive, industrial, or regulated product environment. Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and post-launch issue resolution. Proven experience taking engineering changes from investigation through to validated implementation in production. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly metal fabrication, castings, and assembly-led products. Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners. Comfortable interpreting data, test results, and field feedback to drive engineering decisions. Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, structured reports and documentation. Confident communicator, able to influence cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical issues clearly. Naturally organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable holding ownership in ambiguous situations. Required Skills Experience with gas or thermally driven products. Exposure to regulatory or compliance-driven environments. Familiarity with CAD systems such as SolidWorks and structured PLM systems.
