Location: Huntingdon - hybrid working 2/3 days per week in the office
Are you a strategic technology leader with a passion for operational excellence and digital transformation and looking to be part of our Senior Leadership Team? We’re looking for a Head of Infrastructure and Operations to safeguard and advance the operational performance, stability, reliability and resilience of Anglian Water’s digital estate.
You’ll drive innovation, automation and continuous improvement across hybrid environments, while shaping the future of service management and digital engagement.
In this role, you will:
1. Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day digital operations, including budget costs, of infrastructure, digital workplace and service management
2. Drive operational excellence of digital and data services, owning key operational measures and ensuring all SLAs are achieved
3. Ensure operational stability, resilience, service predictability, and performance across digital and data platforms
4. Oversee capacity planning, disaster recovery, patching, and the management of technical debt
5. Develop and embed best-practice service management processes (ITIL-aligned)
6. Manage outsourced service providers and ensure delivery to agreed SLAs
7. Collaborate with Product, Technology and Cyber Security teams to align on delivery and risk
8. Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture and support career development
9. Champion health, safety, and wellbeing through our “Safer Every Day” initiative
We’re looking for someone with:
10. Extensive experience in infrastructure architecture, hybrid cloud environments and service operations
11. Proven leadership in managing complex IT and OT environments and driving operational excellence
12. Strong knowledge of service management best practices ideally within an Agile, DevOps and Product Management environment
13. Experience in vendor management, contract governance and strategic sourcing
14. A collaborative leader with strong influencing, communication, and change management skills with the ability to build strong partnerships across all stakeholder groups
15. Commercially astute with a strategic mindset and a passion for innovation
16. Experience with Lean, DevOps, or similar methodologies
17. Expertise in disaster recovery, business continuity and cybersecurity alignment
18. A track record of delivering digital optimisation, operational and service excellence
